Looking for luxurious homes in Gravesend? What you can expect
As we outlined before in our lowdown piece, Gravesend is a popular commuter town packed full of history, landmarks and things to do. Since 2009, it has also benefitted from some of the fastest transport links in the country, with the arrival of HS1 cutting journey times to London St Pancras International to just 24 minutes.
But it's also a place where luxury living is entirely possible. Here, using our experience as estate agents working in the local area, we outline they type of luxurious homes that come onto the market in Gravesend.
If you're after lots of living space, head to Windmill Street, which is ideally located close to Gravesend town centre and its high speed rail links. One house was recently on the market with Balgores Property Group for a cool £1 million. The substantial individual detached property included a very generous 4,751 sq. ft. of living space, with a dozen bedrooms, seven bathrooms/en-suites, three reception rooms, two kitchens and two flats/one self-contained flat arranged over four floors.
Located on one of Gravesend's most desirable roads – Windmill Street – the property was a mere 0.6 miles from the town centre. Gravesend station is about a ten-minute walk away.
Iconic local landmark Windmill Hill (and Windmill Gardens) are, as you would expect, right on the doorstep, while Woodlands Park is also nearby.
Local amenities are strong, a number of primary schools are in close proximity and a number of pubs are within easy reach. The bars, restaurants, shops, leisure facilities and entertainment venues on offer in Gravesend are a very short walk away, with Imperial Retail Park and St George's Shopping Centre also on hand.
In terms of location, then, Windmill Street is pretty hard to beat, which goes a long way to explaining the value of the home. The appeal of bespoke individual flats on a sought-after street – if that's what the property is transformed into – would have considerable appeal, particularly to commuters and young professionals. The property is already finished to a high standard, with solid infrastructure in place to make a conversion easily achievable.
