Family weekends

Families can skate at the Riverside Leisure Centre, go trampolining at Jump Chelmsford or visit the cinema and eat a family meal at the Everyman cinema in town. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a breath of fresh air, then you might head to Hylands Park and wander around the stunning grounds before giving the kids a thrill in the adventure playground. Further afield at the Discovery Centre in Great Notley Country Park, you can wander around the amazing playtrails before booking on the Sky Ropes course.
During the summer months, Chelmsford also provides excellent access to the coasts of Essex, Suffolk or Norfolk. Choose from picturesque seaside locations such as Frinton, Clacton, Southwold or Cromer depending on whether you’re looking for fairground fun on the pier, or a more sedate potter on the beach making sandcastles.
