Sales team is very unprofessional. I have made an offer on one of the property and everything was ok. I made second appointment to view the property again with my partner. The appointment was at 3:15 pm got late for 5 minutes to find parking space around the area finally got there at 3:20 pm but no one was there though I should wait outside. Waited 15 minutes no one turned up. called the office around 3:35 and Dude was on the phone started giving me the lessons that I got late on the site and I should have call the office if I was late for 5 minutes. What I mean is I am a buyer and I am buying something which is not gonna cost me couple of hundreds . It is gonna cost more than 350k couldn’t the agent just wait there for 10 minutes or couldn’t he call us for ETA. I literally found this so unprofessional and Incompetent. I have travelled 50 minutes from my house for this appointment and taken time off from the work as well and that agent couldn’t even wait there for 5 minutes.There office is only 7 minutes away from the property.

I had a very disappointing experience with this estate agent beyond one star. I found their approach to be aggressive, manipulative, most at times, extremely rude. If you’re a first-time buyer, be especially cautious — it’s clear that many of their recommended services serve more as profit opportunities for them than as support for you with their favourite phrase being- ‘I’d be honest’.

Be extremely cautious before paying your solicitors, make absolutely sure the seller has instructed their own solicitor and that the information you’re being given is accurate. In my case, progress on the sale was intentionally delayed, even as I was being encouraged to invest time and money upfront. It appeared to be a tactic, once I was financially and emotionally invested, I’d be less likely to walk away, despite serious issues.

They did everything possible to discourage me from getting a proper survey early on, especially during the mortgage process. Then, once the offer was accepted, they tried to pressure me into using again their recommended service for survey. DON’T! Even suggesting a price reduction which was accepted by phone, they tried to pressure me into signing a contract that would make me legally obligated to complete the purchase—no matter what. I was warned that backing out could result in me owing tens of thousands of pounds to the seller. Sounds like a joke, right?

This was communicated to me by Dillian, the branch manager, whose behavior I found highly unprofessional and aggressive. When I told him I wasn’t there to argue, his response remained confrontational.

Two months into the process, it appeared the seller still hadn’t even instructed a solicitor despite the agent telling otherwise many times.

Be extremely wary, do your research, and do not rush into any financial commitment unless you know they are serious. Check their reviews carefully — the positive ones are largely from sellers and maybe renters, not buyers. Do your own survey, get a survey done before committing! Do not take all the risks with them at all. Take home buyers insurance if you choose to proceed with them- luckily I came across a similar review like this which made me take out one to protect myself thankfully. My solicitor said everything about them bizarre and untrustworthy, even down to the listing. It’s the biggest commitment you will make – these people are appalling so do everything via email and get responses in email because they have all the words on the phone but clearly struggle to ‘strategically’ respond to an email. To think, after all this, they had the cheek to call me back to see how my search is going. No shame. I don’t even look at anything they are selling. I have had a much a better experience elsewhere.

I would recommend Balgores as a letting agency to friends and family. We were happy with their service.

I had a positive experience when I rented the house. The staff was very helpful and answered any questions I had. I highly recommend it.

I recently purchased my new home through Balgores, and I cannot speak highly of the incredible service I received. From start to finish, the process was smooth, transparent and efficient. The team worked seamlessly together, finding me the perfect home and making what can often be a stressful process feel much calmer. Communication was excellent, and I always felt like I was in safe hands. I had the pleasure of dealing with Will, Sarah and Harrison, and their hard work was second to none.

I wouldn’t recommend this company at all, especially if you’re a first-time buyer. Arranged a viewing, and placed an offer which was accepted. Paid for my Solicitors, and mortgage fee, and my mortgage was accepted after a valuation from the bank, had my surveyor booked, but the company told my surveyor not to attend on the day, due to another offer being accepted, but did not inform me and told my surveyor not to mention anything to me. That is not the best practice when running a business. Funny enough 2/3 months later the same property goes back on the market. Out of pocket from this business. 100% honest review. They are all good talking but no action.

Highly recommend, a constant stream of viewings & a sale agreed within 2 weeks of the property being on the market. Sian was great, really helpful & kept us updated throughout the process 😊

Ashtons did an excellent job of selling my late mothers property. With the guidance of the manager Keith, we managed to achieve very close to the asking price. We couldn’t have wished for a better selling experience. Independent Estate Agents always offer a more personal service than what you would find with the corporates. Its no surprise Ashton has been around for over a century.
