I would not recommend Ashtons. I let my property out with them and found that the repairs had not been carried out or told to me. When I spoke to the tenants who I had to unfortunately evict due to the state of disrepair, they showed me all the emails and times they had rung ashtons to complete repairs. The property is in such a state of repair with a leak etc that my only option was to sell to the council for far less.

They are unprofessional, rude and you are treated as though you are an inconvenience if you talk to them, met with sighs when asking questions.

Those who are looking to rent your property out, I would strongly discourage you from using these to manage the property.

And for those renting, I also would advise not to rent from Ashtons as they do not listen to you and will not give you back your deposit and even suggest you carry out repairs.

All in all, the biggest regret I made.

I had a positive experience dealing with Balgores Letting Agency. They were able to obtain my references in less than 24 hrs, and moved me and my family in the home at the agreed date. Thank you to Danielle and Andre .

Recently competed a purchase of a property in south woodham ferrers through Balgores – the team were responsive, knowledgeable and super helpful throughout. I also used their mortgage advisor who was super. Would thoroughly recommend.

AVOID – SCAMMERS WHO DON’T RETURN DEPOSITS

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Balgores Lettings Dagenham. They asked me to pay a holding deposit a property, which I did in good faith. Then, just one day before the agreed moving date, they informed me that the property was no longer available rent. While that was upsetting, I understood things can change.

However, it’s now been over a month, and I am still chasing them to refund my holding deposit. They have been completely unresponsive—not answering phone calls, not replying to emails. This is highly unprofessional and feels like a complete scam.

If you’re thinking of using this agency—DON’T. There’s no transparency, no accountability, and they clearly don’t care about tenants once they’ve got your money. I regret trusting them and hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

Clive and the team treated us with care and kindness whilst being professional throughout a difficult sale. This was emotional selling my late Aunt’s home but we could not have picked a better agency who saw us through this time to a successful completion.
